Feed and water it everyday!

We did the funnest thing for Wes for Christmas. He had to feed his present from Justin and I for four days! He is always asking if we can get a pet at our house, such as a lizard or a snake and of course I always say no. (Mostly because he is not around everyday and I am not about to touch a lizard or snake to clean the cage. Call me a baby if you want but there is no way!) Anyway this box had two pvc pipes coming out the top and inside he thought he had a really cool, really alive present! Well on Christmas morning he started to open it really slowly and he and Kadence noticed that there were two wrapped gifts on top right inside the flaps. Wes said "let's open these first." The two of them open what was an ipod and skull candy earphones and Wes was so excited! After he said to Kadence "Keep looking in the box." So the two of them went carefully searching through the box and didn't get it! I yelled "got ya!" He still didn't get it for a minute and then he realized he had been feeding an ipod for four days! It was so funny! He had no idea! Christmas was great and we hope that all of yours was full of fun and pleasant surprises!

My FiRsT bLaCk FrIdAy!

Yep, I did it! I finally went early, stood in line and got everything that I wanted! Paige and I went together and I have to admit I was scared I was going to get trampled or punched but my sis held my hand and told me to RUN! It was exhilarating! For those of you that can't believe that I have never gone (because I do like to shop) I can't believe it myself! What fun I have been missing out on! And I almost have all my shopping done after a few hours! YEAH!!!!!

Fun Thanksgiving Tradition!

I just though I would share a fun tradition that my Mother in Law started several years ago! Every year on the night before Thanksgiving we all get together and have what we call Pie Night! Yep and that is exactly all it is! We all bring our favorite pies to share and Joyce supplies the ice cream, cool whip and drinks! I love it because, first of all, it extends the Thanksgiving holiday (which I think gets overlooked anyway) and second, I never am hungry for pie after I stuff myself with turkey and all the fixins! This way we can thoroughly enjoy all the yummy pies! Each year it seems to get bigger and bigger so it must be a great idea! I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving this year and I am so thankful for all of you!

I GUESS I WILL DO IT!

SO I HAVE DECIDED TO GO PRIVATE! I NEVER THOUGHT IT WAS A BIG DEAL BUT THIS WORLD IS TOO CRAZY! SO PLEASE LEAVE ME YOUR EMAIL SO I CAN KEEP IN TOUCH! THANX SO MUCH!

Better late than never!

I was doing so well with this blogging thing and then who knows what happened! I have been so busy with life and then sick on top of that so the combination of the two make it hard to blog! Hopefully things get better! Halloween was so fun and the kids had a blast! The party was a huge success and it will definately happen next year! We missed all of you that could not make it. So now we are on to Kadence's birthday and Thanksgiving! More exciting events and hopefully more fun things to tell all of you about!

Curly Sue!

So this was my first attempt to put sponge curlers in Kadence's hair. Her hair is just now getting long enough to get them in. I remember as a little girl my mom would do this on a weekly basis to me and my sis. I thought I would give it a try. My first mistake was washing her hair on the same day; the second was making them sound like so much fun. If the were not sliding out on there own, they had help coming out by Kadence! Despite the thirty times I put the same ones in over and over we survived and the end result was so cute! Too bad her hair does not hold any curl! It lasted, oh, about an hour!

ThAnK YoU!!!

I just want to thank everyone for all the great support. The new place is getting better everyday! I have already had quite a few new clients and alot of old ones too! I am also getting used to the new setup. I feel more comfortable there every time I work! Everyone has been asking where I went and I was nervous to put the name of it on my blog. Then I remembered that I advertise with the salon name, my name, and my phone number. Putting on my blog can't be much worse, right? So I was just letting you all know that is is called Urban Retreat. Someone said to that I just went from one retreat to another it can't be too much different! Ha Ha I wish! Things are getting better and I just need to give it more time to set in. Thanks again to everyone who gave me encouraging advice. I really appreciate it!

If anyone remembers I posted about the trick or treat thing on main street and that I was kind of excited to not have to worry about it. Well They are doing the same thing at the ballpark here in Salem! I am going to do it just because it will help build my business and it is free advertising. I can't pass that up for sure, I don't have to pay a dime and the people come to me! PERFECT! I just thought it was kind of ironic because it is the first year Salem city is doing it! That is my luck!

This is Halloween 2006. Just thought I would put a picture on here to make my post a little exciting! Just in case you can't tell I was a witch, Wes was a mummy and Kadence was a Latin dancer! Her dress actually came from Spain, thanks to Aunt Chels! She is even wearing my fake hair piece from drill team! I love Halloween!

Same job...New place

I would really like to consider my self to be someone who can do and conquer anything but when it comes to this I am crossing my fingers!

Today was the start of a whole new chapter for me and to be completely honest I am scared to death! I started at the new salon and I feel like I have changed so much more than that. I am doing the exact same thing just in a different chair but it feels like I have never done hair a day in my life. It was little things; for example where my hair dryer was plugged in and where my combs where sitting. I never thought it would matter so much. I was Springville for just over three years so that place became a second home to me. A place I felt comfortable and relaxed but I just threw that all out the window. I am not saying that is a bad thing but I think change is just hard.

I sit and ponder on all the reasons I chose to leave and I keep reminding myself that I did the right thing for the right reasons. I just hope that it can work out and I will love the new place as much as the old. If anyone from the shop is reading this I just want you to know that I love all of you and I thank you for the friendship you all shared with me. Good Luck in all you do!

Last Halloween...

So I love Halloween! I can't wait for this year but it won't be as fun because Wes will be with his Mom this year! It is no fun to share kids but such is life! Kadence still hasn't made a firm decision about what to be and Wesley won't even say that he has an idea at all!

Last year we didn't do much more than the norm every year but this year we have two parties and I don't have to do the Trick or Treating on Main street for work. Justin or my Mom has gotten my kids ready for the last three years and this year I get to do it! I am going to miss the Main Street thing it is so fun to see everyone in the town dress up and come trick or treat. I will also miss dressing up with the girls at work but I guess it's another sacrifice I am willing to take. (In case you were wondering, I am moving to a salon closer to home) I dress up every year but Justin hasn't since the first year we were married. This year he said that he will dress up and I am soooo excited! I have been trying to talk him or Wes into being an Oompa Loompa but they think I am just trying to make them look stupid. I just think it would be a great costume! (Hey Cal, if you are reading this, that's is a great idea for your costume!) Well, I hope all of you will have a fun, safe, happy Halloween!

Me and my friend Stacey. ( Yes she was so cute and pregnant)

Here kitty kitty kitty.....

Well as you can tell Kadence thinks that because we talk about Halloween costumes that she needs one right now! So being the push over I can sometimes be I let her choose something and this is what she came up with. Since we didn't have a kitty costume, we scrounged things around the house and turned them into a "fabulous" kitty cat! So just in case you ever need a kitty costume in a pinch this is what you need....
1. a black leotard and black tights (which I did have)
2. two hair barrettes
3. card stock, a black marker, and super glue
4. a black sock and a safety pin
5. black eyeliner (a kitty has to have whiskers)
So as you can see Kadence was a kitty cat for a whole day and I actually let her wear it to the grocery store; where you can imagine we got quite the audience. And just in case you were wondering she wants to be sleeping beauty for Halloween. With my luck she will change her mind twelve more times and so I am not buying a costume for her until the day before Halloween. (I am not even joking)
Oh yeah my camera just decided to work for another minute so we will see how long it lasts this time. I was really hoping that it would stay broken this time so I could get a new one, Oh well!

Anniversary, State Fair, Birthday Party What Else??

Well I got my pics off of my camera YEAH!!! I feel like I haven't posted forever so I have a few things to share. First off, yesterday was our FIVE YEAR anniversary! To be completely honest I can't believe it. We have certainly had a rocky road and I am sure that we will still have a few bumps but I am so thrilled to be headed where we are going! Things just get better and better everyday! I wish Justin would actually show any interest in blogging because he could see that I want to share with the world how much I love him. He is such an amazing father to our kids and a wonderful husband to me! I really feel that things always work out the way they are supposed to and him and I being together was no mistake. Justin can always make me feel calm and at peace and he is so fun and always keeps me guessing. There is never a dull moment in our lives. I am so grateful for him and everything he does for me! I love him to pieces and I hope that I can be to him what he is to me!

I have some photos of when we went to the state fair. We go every year and we always have a blast! Last year we watched the tractor pulls and as silly as it sounds it is quite exciting. This year we went on the night of the rodeo but decided we didn't want to sit through all that in the heat so we just did all the normal things at the fair! Pony rides, carnival rides, saw the animals and ate a lot of really expensive junk food! What more could you ask for! Kadence always has fun no matter what she does but this is probably one of her favorites! I finally got all the pics of my camera so you can all see how fun it is to act like a kid!

Daddy actually took a picture!

We all went on the Ferris wheel and I don't claim Justin all the time...

Only when he is being normal! As he would say "How much fun is normal!"

Kadence met the Miss Utah Rodeo Queen. She was so shy it was adorable!

This is Slow Joe and if you ask Kadence that is what all horses are called!

The week after the fair was my niece, Reagan's birthday party! She turned two! I can't believe how cute she is and how well she can talk! We had a party for her at the park and had lunch and cake! Reagan is such a sweetie and she is so lovable! I love it when I get to spend time with her and she loves Kadence (K-K is what Reagan calls her) They play so cute together. I love you Reagan!!!

The birthday girl was the last to blow hers out!

My camera is toast!

Hello everyone! I know I haven't posted in awhile but I am trying to get my camera to work for like two seconds. I have had it for about four years and I need a new one! We went on a hike with the kids yesterday and I went to take the cutest picture of my kids crossing a bridge and my stupid camera would not even turn on! I was so frustrated, if I would not of had other pictures on the memory card then I probably would have thrown it in the river! So hopefully I get a new one soon and if any of you have a suggestion on what to get then please let me know! I don't want to get another piece of junk! Hopefully another post will follow soon!

Sightseeing!

This last weekend we went to Logan for a Reid Family Reunion. We went to Hyrum Dam, which looks like a puddle that you could skip a rock across but is actually about 30 feet deep. You can also boat there so we had the tubes out ready to go! It was fun and I wish I had a picture but Wes got to do his favorite thing in the whole world, KNEE BOARD! He was so excited and could have stayed out all night if we would have allowed him to. That nigh we went to Grandma Reids (my mom's mom) and had pizza and discussed politics. (we really did) Our little family stayed at the Crystal Inn there in Logan and I couldn't believe that is was so nice. It was probably the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. Such a pleasant surprise and they even had Bath and Body Works soap and shampoo instead of the gross hotel stuff. Not that I needed it but I had to bring it home. These are so pics of the day at Hyrum Dam.

Justin can never relax, so this is rare!

The look like they are getting along, but I think they were arguing. No Surprise

I am always the one taking the pics, so here is a picture of me.
Sunday on the way home we decided to take the kids to the State Capitol building and temple square. Justin hadn't even been to the capitol building before. It was really neat and Wesley was in what he called "HEELEY HEAVEN" They have lots of smooth marble floors and he could wheel for days on it! He is such a riot! Kadence kept saying "This has got to be Cinderella's Castle" Of course to her everything is a fairy tale in some way. I was surprised how much they liked to be there! Although my camera batteries died I got one picture, after trying over and over, this is all I got.

We then went to Temple square and then we rode trax to get lunch. I really wish we had trax down here I think I would use it a ton. So convenient!
Inside the Tabernacle a man playing the huge organ and we sat a listened for awhile. The kids loved it. Kadence said, "Dad it's like pirates!" She loves Pirates of the Caribbean. I am glad Justin had the idea to do these things. And yes it was surprising to hear Justin say, "Let's go to temple square too."
Justin and the kids in the tabernacle

Me and the kids in front of the Temple

Silly Wes! He doesn't know I took this picture

Kadence won't smile these days, at least all the way

It's Raining, It's Pouring!

So as you all already know it rained, YEAH!!! Well it actually hailed at my house and the kids thought it was so cool! They had to get the umbrella and go out in it. I made them promise me that they would take turns and you all know how that went. Kadence was just mad period when Wes had it and Wes was mad because he was too tall to be under it when Kadence had it. I kind of sat back and laughed at them as they tried to figure it out. Little Kadence was trying so hard to hold it up high enough that Wes could be under it. It was pretty entertaining. After the rain stopped I had to pick some tomatoes for dinner and the kids love to help with the gardening(except to pull weeds) so they came out and picked the tomatoes they could find in that jungle! I planted two roma tomatoes and one cherry tomato and those have taken over the whole garden box. I guess it was a good thing the cucumbers died early because they would have surely not survived when the tomatoes got bigger! They are so dense you can hardly get down in them to get the tomatoes! I didn't think they would do much because it was the first year I had done them in the garden box so we will see how many I get after all is said and done. Gardening is so rewarding and my kids love to help me do it!

Kadence trying to hold the umbrella high enough!

I love it when my kids play together! (Even if they argue a little)

That is Wesley's surprised face, cause the plants are so huge!

Kadence actually loves tomatoes! She eats them like apples!

Big Events!

I had such a busy week last week that I didn't even have time to post two big events. First is that Wesley started fourth grade! He is so excited and loves his new school so far. I asked how he liked his teacher and he told me that his teacher hadn't been there yet. I asked him why and Wes replied, "He had his independence out or something." I laughed out loud and replied, "Do you mean appendix?" It was so funny so I guess his poor teacher still isn't back yet. Wes is a great student and extremely smart. We are so proud of him! Wesley's mom was so nice to take pictures and email them to me because I couldn't be there to take some. He is so handsome, don't ya think!

The other exciting thing is that Kaleb is finally home! He is adjusting quite well. We all went to the airport to pick him and my parents up and it was so fun to see him after so long. Kadence was the first to run up and hug him. We talked to the kids alot about him so they wouldn't forget him too much. Wes even spoke a little Spanish with him. My brothers little girl Reagan was born just after Kaleb left so he was excited to finally meet her. Kaleb told my Mom that he was so ready to come home but when he was actually released my Dad said that he was quite emotional. He had a successful mission with, I believe, sixteen baptisms which one of them my parents got to witness when they went to pick him up. They said that the Dominican Republic was like no other place on earth. They really had a good time meeting they people that Kaleb influenced so much! I believe that he will be greatly missed by the people he got to know! Kaleb gave an awesome talk and he has grown up so much. I can't believe he is the same kid we sent away two years go. Last weekend was so fun, full of family time and lots of catching up.

Everyone that came to welcome Kaleb

Kaleb and his nieces and nephew (and Trever)

Reagan wasn't so sure she liked him yet!

Grandpa's best girls!

Twiddle-dee and Twiddle-dum

If shoes could talk!

These are some pictures from the airport. I love the one of his shoes. I guess in the Dominican it is so hot that the missionaries don't wear there suits so his suit sat in a closet for two years. So when he went to put it on it was still brand new but obviously his shoes were not. I think it is so funny cause it goes to show all the hours of hard work and walking just right there in his shoes. If they could talk! It was so sad when Kaleb held Reagan. She started crying, but my dad (grandpa) could cheer her up better than anyone. Both Kadence and Reagan were excited to see Grandpa and Grandma come off the plane too.

What a FUN Weekend!!

We had a blast this past weekend! The only bad thing is that we did not have Wes with us he was with his Mom. That is the only thing that could have made it more fun! First we went to dinner Friday night to PF Changs (my fav) We always get mongolian beef so if you have never had it there you need to try it! Kadence loves rice so that is all she ate but for one night I wasn't worried. Saturday we went to the Utah County Fair and the 1st annual demolition Derby. We didn't stay the whole time it was way too crowded. But what we did see was so fun to watch! Sunday was the most fun! After church we went and spent the whole day at Payson Lakes. It was so pretty and there were hardly any people there. Kadence has a blast and we just relax and bbq some yummy food! We took a little floating boat with us and I went out on the lake and almost fell asleep. It was so peaceful and quiet! It is such a beautiful place. I have a bunch of pictures so you have to take a peek! It was just fun to hang out with each other all weekend and have so much to do! Too bad it doesn't happen more often.

KALEB IS COMING HOME!!!!

My little brother Kaleb has been serving a mission in the Dominican Republic and he is coming home next Thursday the 21st!! We are so excited and he says he is ready to come home. My parents are leaving this Friday to go and get him. They are kind of nervous to go somewhere that far away but also so excited to see Kaleb. We were at my Mom's house last night making posters to hang on there fence, it was so fun. Kadence and Reagan also contributed and they made the cutest pictures for him. We had to strip them down for obvious reasons. You can't give a three year old and a two year old paints and leave them dressed! We are going to the airport to get him and we can't wait.

After we were done painting the girls found a bucket with Grandmas tomatoes in it and went to town. Good thing they were already stripped down or that would have been a mess all on its own. They were so funny we had to take pictures!

BEAR LAKE!

Kadence and Reagan

Cody, and then Paige and then Kbear on top

Kadence was actually in time out!

My little fishie!

Paige, Jake, and Me

This past weekend Kadence and I went to Bear Lake and stayed with my Grandparents at there condo. We had a great time. My sister Paige and her boyfriend (probably soon-to-be fiance) Cody were there. My brothers Jake and Trever, Trev's wife, Meg, and their little girl Reagan were there too! I left Justin and Wesley home for some father-son bonding time. We weren't there very long but we got a lot of swimming and relaxing in. Kadence loves to swim and she is so fun to take places. Every thing is an adventure with her. I am so glad we decided to go! It is always fun to visit family and make new memories!
